Unfolding History with the Help of GIS Technology
As with most of the projects at Carolina Digital Library and Archives (CDLA), "Driving Through Time" is the product of close collaboration between UNC librarians, faculty, staff, and students. This model contrasts the common image of a scholar laboring alone to produce historical knowledge. Members of the CDLA team described their collaborative process in an abstract published in the Digital Humanities 2010 conference proceedings. Digital Humanities is the annual international conference for digital scholarship in the humanities, sponsored by the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organisations (ADHO). Read the abstract below.
