Description | This photograph shows a sign directing drivers left for Shenandoah National Park and right for the Blue Ridge Parkway. A logo for the National Park Service is located in the middle of the sign. This sign is placed near the Rockfish Gap Overpass, at the point where Skyline Drive to the north becomes the Blue Ridge Parkway to the south. A wooden guard rail runs along the side of the road, and interstate 64 is visible in the background on the left side of the image. This photograph was taken near milepost 0 in June of 1949. |
