Description | Image shows the interior of the Ramsey Cabin. Two of the interior walls are visible in this image. There is a wooden door on one wall, and on the other wall there is a fireplace of roughly cut stone, and a wooden mantle above the fireplace. There is solid chinking between all of the logs that make up the walls. The image was taken at the Humpback Rocks Visitors Center and Mountain Farm, near milepost 5.8 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, taken after the restoration of the Ramsey Cabin. The cabin was originally located near milepost 50, near where Section 1F meets Section 1G of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This image was taken by C. S. Grossman and Warren D. Lewis in June 1953. |
