Title | Humpback Rocks |
Date | July 21, 1974 |
Description | Image shows a women, possibly conducting a demonstration on nineteenth century farm life, sitting in a chair on the porch of a log cabin in the Humpback Rocks Visitor Center and Mountain Farm area near milepost 5.8, section 1B of the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are two visitors looking at the woman and the cabin. Image shows the front of the cabin as well as another unidentified building in the background. The cabin appears to be completely composed of wood; the cabin corners rest on stone, typical of eighteenth and nineteenth century cabins to keep the foundation out of damp soil. Taken from the National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters. Photographed by C.E. Westveer on July 21, 1974. |
