Description | Image shows the east elevation of a log structure that was built by John C. Clark in 1881. On this side of the structure, many of the gaps between the logs have been filled with wooden boards. The roof on the structure is made of wooden shingles. This image was taken near milepost 36.4 in Section 1E of the Blue Ridge Parkway, at the original site of the structure. The building was disassembled and reconstructed at the Humpback Rocks Visitor Center, near milepost 5.8 in Section 1B of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The image was taken by Warren D. Lewis in August 1952. |
