The image was taken near the crossing of U.S. Route 60 and what the photographer refers to as the Shenandoah - Great Smoky Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway, as constructed, crosses U.S. Route 60 near milepost 45.6 in Section 1F. This image was taken by Edward H. Abbuehl on April 16, 1935.
