There is a note with the photograph which indicates that Buck Wright was supposedly one of Jesse James' gang. The man in the image has a long white beard, and he is wearing a hat, and holding an umbrella in one hand. There is a full sack on his lap, and there is a roll of materials laid across the donkey's back, behind the man. A dog is lying on the the ground close to the donkey's hind feet. The image was taken near Bearwallow Gap, near what is milepost 90.9 and Section 1K of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This image is a copy of an 8x 10 photograph that was provided courtesy of Mrs. Emma Martin of Buchanan, Virginia. The copy was made by Earl W. Estes, Jr. on March 25, 1958.
