The sign is located on Sharp Top Mountain, one of the Peaks of Otter. Image was taken near milepost 85.9 in Section 1K of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken by C. E. Westveer on July 21, 1974. The sign reads:

Weather at Work / Residual boulders have here been formed by decomposition and the loosening of the diorite rock masses. Weathering, most active along cracks, slowly forms the boulder-like blocks. / United States Department of Interior / National Park Service
