Description | Image shows men working to construct a culvert. There is a rectangular wooden frame at the construction site, and on the ground near the frame there is a large pile of sand or cement and wheelbarrows for transporting the material. A few men appear to be operating a concrete mixer that is also set near the frame. There are more bags of material packed into the bed of a truck at the construction site. The image was taken near where Virginia State Route 43 crosses Little Stony Creek, near milepost 86 and Section 1K of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken on January 9, 1948. |
