About this Item
Title | Cherry Hill Gas Station |
Title Note | negative 2795 |
Description | Photo of gas station. Taken by C. E. Westveer on August 10, 1973 along the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 256.9. |
Commentary | Cherry Hill was a small town located at mile post 256.9 in Ashe County. It is unclear whether the gas station is located in the town itself or if it is one of the National Park Service concessions that were allowed to operate along the right of way. Given the appearance of the building and the access leading in and out, it is possible that this was a concession. |
