About this Item
Title | Burnt car found on Sec 2E. Full report by Ranger Coombs |
Date | July 19, 1940 |
Description | Photograph shows a burnt car on the side of the road. Taken by A.S. Burns on July 19, 1940 along Section 2E, milepost 261.5-276.4 |
Commentary | The Blue Ridge was created as a highway for cars and often the human imprint is nullified when one looks at the grand sweeping views of the area. The picture of a burnt out car is an important reminder that humans do affect the road. |
