Commentary This barricade is in Section 2Q. Portions of the Blue Ridge Parkway are closed in winter because snow and ice makes driving conditions on the road too dangerous for motorists. The photographer is R. E. Howe, who often photographed accidents on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the damage they caused.
