Title Letter from W. W. Watt to Heriot Clarkson
Date September 23, 1938
Description Mr. Watt appears to be a personal friend of Heriot Clarkson. He writes that he has followed Little Switzerland case and expresses sympathy for Clarkson. Refers to the "mal-administration" of the national government and injustice of system where human rights are conflated with property rights. Concludes that the "Solid South" is faring ill under "Northern Republicans".
Commentary Watt equates problems with the New Deal in general to Clarkson's situation and applies the idea of "just compensation" versus the "public good" to more than just the Little Switzerland case. Box 10, folder 539.
