About this Item
Title | Letter from T. Max Watson to Heriot Clarkson |
Date | January 16, 1940 |
Description | Watson, Commissioner Ninth Division at the State Highway Commission, writes that he no longer wishes to discuss the Switzerland Company v. State Highway Commission case. He seems to scold Clarkson by saying that every time a dollar is spent for right-of-way costs, there is a dollar less for road maintenance and construction. |
Commentary | Reveals some of the bitterness the State Highway Commission felt about their loss in the Switzerland Company case, as well as a sense that right-of-way issues were somewhat trivial. Box 4, folder 83. |
