Title Letter from Heriot Clarkson to Walter W. Watt
Date October 3, 1938
Description Judge Clarkson sends Watt a copy of the Mass Meeting Pamphlet, the highlights of which he says were published as "A Plea for Simple Truth and Justice" in the News and Observer. He asks Watt to review some of the articles Julian S. Miller published in the Charlotte Observer, particularly "Clarkson Gives Claims of Resort" published on July 7, 1938. As a personal favor, Watt is asked to go to Miller and get him to print corrections to the article.
Commentary This letter is an example of how Judge Clarkson used his personal connections to get what he wanted. Box 10, folder 539.
