Driving Through Time - The Digital Blue Ridge Parkway
About this Image
| Title | Cumberland Knob Drive |
| Date | February 2, 1937 |
| Description | Photograph shows a view of the Blue Ridge Parkway towards Cumberland Knob in section 2A of the Blue Ridge Parkway. On the right of the image is some cut lumber and a small brick building, possibly used for storage. |
| Commentary | This picture was taken partway through the construction of Section 2A in 1937. Construction was underway from 1935 to 1940. Cumberland Knob Drive and the Maintenance area were near the beginning of section 2A though so may have been finished earlier. To the left of the fork is apparently a parking lot (see photo 7-20-B). |
