Description The existing structure of the Spring House at Brinegar Cabin, before restoration. Brinegar Cabin is located on milepost 238.5 near or in Doughton Park, off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Image taken from the National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters and taken by "KCM" in January 1942.
Commentary Martin Brinegar settled this cabin in 1885 and it was lived in until the land and cabin were purchased by the Parkway in 1935. The cabin is still standing today and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
