| Commentary | This bridge was built through the work of the Civilian Conservation Cort which was started by Franklin Roosevelt as part of his New Deal program to help stabilize the American Economy during the Great Depression. Almost 3 million young men between the ages of 18-24 participated in the CCC and its efforts to conserve and develop natural resources. |
