Commentary | Built in 1937, this was the earliest steel girder bridge built on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is the only bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway with steel arch piers and piers that are attached to the foundations with steel pins, allowing it to flex without damaging the structure. |
