About this Item
Title | Potential meadow choked with brush |
Date | July 2, 1944 |
Description | Photo shows an area overgrown with brush and shrubbery. Taken by AHH on July 2, 1944, Station 498/50R, Section 2E (incorrectly noted on card as Section 2F), Milepost 270. |
Commentary | Although the landscapes along the Blue Ridge Parkway seem very natural, they were in fact meticulously planned by the National Park Service. Landscapers perhaps had ideas of clearing out the brush on this land and turning it into a meadow. |
