Currituck County Veterans Park, Coinjock
The memorial at Currituck County Veterans Park is a lectern shaped block of granite several feet tall with a bronze tablet holding the inscription. The granite block is centered on a long, narrow strip formed of commemorative red bricks. This strip has a concrete border inset with short poles connected by chain. Seven flag poles are also positioned around the granite block. The center flag pole is a ships mast with the American flag at top and the North Carolina flag and POW/MIA flag on lines hanging from the trestle tree. The other six poles fly flags with coats of arms from the five branches of the military and the Merchant Marines.
