North Carolina Rowan County Inferior Court, August Term 1771.

Robt Wood who was committed to gaol heretofore by three justices of this County for having refused to take the Oaths of Allegiance and Oaths of Government when tendered to him in the time of the late Rebellion,

The said Robert being brought into open Court on motion of Mr Dunn Attorney for the Crown, then the Oaths were read to him which he Absolutely Refused to take, it is therefore ordered that he be remanded to jail Back again and there to remain until the next Superior Court for further proceedings to be had against him.
