Official Bond of Christopher Neale as Clerk of the Court.

Know all men by these Presents that we, Christopher Neale, Jacob Blount & Timothy Clear, all of Craven County in the Province of North Carolina are held and firmly bound unto John Clitherall, Joseph Luck and James Davis, Esquires, Justices of the Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of the said County, and the rest of the Justices of said County now sitting in Court, in the just Sum of one Thousand pounds proclamation money, to be paid to the said Justices and their Successors for which payment well and truly to be made we hereby bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our Heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. fourteenth day of June one thousand seven hundred and seventy four in the fourteenth Year of His Majesty's Reign.

The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the above bound Christopher Neale is appointed Clerk of the said Court, now if the said Christopher Neale shall well and safely keep the records of the same Court, and faithfully discharge the duty of his Office as Clerk thereof, then this Obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and Effect.
