Tyrrel County, 25th, 1777.

Sir:—

As I have the honor of being chose Clerk of Tyrel County, by majority of votes the first and second days; likewise have received the books and papers belonging to the said County from Mr. Archibald Corrie—Wherefore request the favour of your Excellency to grant me a Commission to act in the said office; and forward it when most convenient to your Hon'r.

I should do myself the honour to wait on your Excellency in person, but having this opportunity, hope your Excellency will excuse me at this time. Your demands please to let me know, and I shall send to you by Mr. Benjamin Spruil at the next meeting of the Assembly. Your compliance will always be acknowledged by Sir,
