GEN. ALEX. LILLINGTON TO GOVERNOR ABNER NASH.

June 24th, 1780.

His Excellency Governor Nash.

Dear Sir:

Capt. Raiford, as well in behalf of Captns. Goodwin, Capt. Mills & sundry other officers as himself, all Continental officers, has applyed to me for Recruiting Orders & money. As yr. Excellency has never gave me any instructions In what manner the money is to be obtained, &c., what proportion to Distribute to each, it is not in my power to give them an answer until I can be favoured with a line from you, Sir. We have nothing Just now to relate, Otherwise should.
