TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM GOV. MARTIN.
[From Executive Letter Book.]

May 3rd, 1782.

Gentlemen:

As there are a number of vacancies in the Legionary Troops of this State, a return of which I do myself the Honor to lay before you, you will please to make further appointments or direct the same to be done in the manner most agreeable to you.

At the same time permit me to suggest it be necessary to point out by a resolve of your Honorable Body the mode of rise in the two Corps of said Troops, that the Officer’s rank be ascertained with precision and further disputes prevented.

GOV. MARTIN.
