Halifax, February 12th, 1782.

Sir:

Lieutenant Col. Stewart is here with some particular Instructions from General Greene relative to the arrangement of our Continental Line.

Your presence will doubtless be Necessary on Such an Occasion, and I hope it will be convenient for you to come to Halifax some time this week in order to attend to this business and to give me such information and assistance as may be in your power the better to enable me to take measures for Recruiting my force.
