GOV. THOS. BURKE TO BRIG. GEN. SUMNER.

Halifax, February 26th, 1782.

Sir:

Four men in Hillsborough under Sentence of death have been reprieved on Condition of their Inlisting for twelve months from the first of March next into the Continental Line of this State. I do not know whether there is any person at Hillsborough who can take their Inlistment. I request you to take such measures as may enable them to Inlist on or before the first of March, (Friday next) the day appointed for their Execution.

I am, Sir,
Your very obt. St.,
THOS. BURKE.
General Sumner.
