I received a letter from you yesterday Stating a Case in which you Complain of Fraud which, from your representation, Appears a hard one.
I can only lament your Misfortune, the Laws and Constitution not having put the power of redress in the Hands of the Executive Magistrate, but reserving all Questions of Contract and property between Citizens to the Judiciary power.
As to your request to have it printed, the press being intirely free from any Interposition from me as a Magistrate would be highly improper.
