GOV. THOS. BURKE TO DUGALD CAMPBELL.

Hillsborough, April 20th, 1782.

Sir:

Mrs. Campbell, with whom I have had the pleasure of Conversing, will inform you of my Sentiments relatively to your Circumstances, and my Disposition to render you every Service in my power. She will deliver you a Flag of Truce, which will Serve to Conduct you to General Greene’s head Quarters, and a letter to him, which I hope will procure you every Indulgence which it may be expedient for him to give.

I wish, Sir, that your Success may be answerable to your wishes and enable you to Continue your residence in this State, to which I esteem your family a valuable addition.
