Hillsborough, Apl. 20th, 1782.

Sir:

I have Seen a letter of yours to Mr. Mebane, the Commissioner of Orange. I am much Surprised at your evasions. I insist that the quantity of flesh meat ordered by me on the 6th Inst. be immediately collected, or means may very probably be found to Convince you that you are not to wait for Information of who can Spare, or only act on your own Suspicion. You may perhaps learn that it is your duty to go and Examine
