Philadelphia, 10th June, 1783.

Sir:

The States of New York and Maryland having made separate propositions to Congress on the Subject of their permanent residence in one of those States, I have the honor to enclose Copies thereof for the information of your State, and am instructed by Congress to inform your Excellency that the first Monday in October next is assigned for the determination on those propositions when it is expected that each State will be careful to have a full Representation in Congress.
