13. May 1752.

By their Excellencies the Lords Justices

We being well satisfied of the Loyalty Integrity and Ability of John Rutherford Esqre do hereby in His Majesty's name direct and require you forthwith upon the Receipt hereof to swear and admit him the said John Rutherford to be one of his Majesty's Council in His Majesty's Province of North Carolina in the room of Robt Halton Esqre deceased. And for so doing this shall be your warrant Given at Whitehall the Day of     in the twenty fifth year of His Majesty's reign.
