GEN. JETHRO SUMNER TO COL. SEAWELL.

Evening.

“After your leaving the camp I have received a letter from Gen. Sumter. He says the enemy have crossed the river at Landsford, and perhaps they may fall in with you. I thought it necessary to send you this information. If you should fall in with the____ I doubt not but you'll give a good account of them.”
