Davis, Thomas Frederick III

Thomas Frederick Davis III (1828-1865) from Salisbury, NC, was the son of Elizabeth Fleming and Thomas Frederick Davis (1804-1871), an 1822 graduate of the University. Born in Wilmington, NC, the younger Davis entered the University in 1841, joined the Dialectic Society, and graduated with first honors in 1845. He became a Protestant Episcopal minister and in 1854 married Mary Boykin McCaa (1832-1918).
