Chesley Page Patterson Barbee (1821-1851) of Orange County, NC, was the son of Christopher Page (1796-1862) and Sarah Patterson (1798-1859) Barbee. He entered the University in 1839, joined the Dialectic Society, and graduated in 1843. He practiced law and sold real estate in Dallas County, AR. In 1847 he married Elizabeth Keziah Smith (1831-1913); they were the parents of two daughters. An active Methodist layman, he died of pneumonia near Princeton, AR.
