Grier, Ebenezer Clarkson

Ebenezer Clarkson Grier (1821-1888) of Mecklenburg County, NC, was the son of Col. Thomas (1785-1872) and Mary Harris (1791-1810) Grier. He entered the University in 1840, joined the Dialectic Society, and graduated in 1844. He became a lawyer in Macon, GA. In 1854 he married Frances Poe, with whom he had a daughter. After Frances’ death, he married the widow Eliza Theresa Dorsey (née Griswold) (d. 1895), who bore him three sons and a daughter.
