Solomon P. Morgan (d. 1847) was the son of Mark Morgan, who donated 107 acres of land to establish the University. A planter, Solomon and his wife Nancy Ann (d. 1851) had a daughter, Mary Morgan Mason (1825-1894), who willed Mason Farm to the University.
