Slade, Thomas Turner "Cuffee"

Thomas Turner Slade (1822-1863), sometimes known as "Cuffee," was reared in Lincolnton, NC. He entered the University in 1841, joined the Dialectic Society, and graduated in 1845, becoming a lawyer and merchant. In 1849 he married Emeline Cobb. He held the rank of captain in the Confederate army and was killed in battle.
