Jane Wilson (1822-1842) was the daughter of Mary Willis and Alexander Wilson (1799-1867), Presbyterian minister and president of the Caldwell Institute in Greensboro, NC. She was a student in the female academy operated by Professor and Mrs. James Phillips in Chapel Hill. Jane contracted cholera on a trip she was making with her father from Raleigh to Greensboro and died in Chapel Hill at the age of twenty.
