Wilson, Richard Don

Richard Don Wilson (1819-1883) of Caswell County, NC, entered the University in 1840, joined the Dialectic Society, and graduated in 1842. He became a lawyer, taught school, and wrote poetry. From 1868 to 1883 he served on the University’s board of trustees. "The Visionary," a long love poem is housed as Richard Don Wilson, The Visionary Manuscript #2896, Southern Historical Collection, Wilson Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
