Description "It stood at the corner of Front and Chestnut Streets surrounded by trees and lighted by gas lamps. The Cape Fear Club was organized in 1866 and is considered to be the oldest continuous gentleman's club in the South. The present Club is located at Second and Chestnut and was built in 1912. Private collection."
