| Description | Formerly the Main, Manager C. L. Welch expanded the theater to twice its original size with "a screen at the rear with elevated floor…new seats of the latest opera pattern…splendid seeing from any section of the large auditorium and balcony. The lobby just inside is large and well arranged, and the entrance for white people remains as heretofore, while the entrance to the balcony, which is set aside for negroes, is from a side stairway leading from the south end of the front. Negro peoples purchase tickets at the head of this stairway and do not come in contact at all with the white patrons." Seating capacity is 900 - 300 in the balcony and 600 in the main auditorium |
