Welch installed an American Photoplayer (manufactured in Berkley, CA); "The machine is so constructed that when one piece of music is being played it can be switched immediately to another selection to suit the picture being thrown on the screen...[It] can be operated by hand or electricity. An operator will be required and Mr. Welchstates that any ladies who are interested in learning to manipulate this modern musical device will be given instructions as an expert operator will be at the theater during the next two weeks for this purpose." |
