| Date | 6/9/1909 |

| Publication | Charlotte Daily Observer |
| Description | "Several ministers of the city requested Mr. Don Richardson not to appear last night at the Alamo theatre on West-Trade street, attired as a chorister boy, rendering on his violin "Nearer My God To Thee." The performance, it was feared by the ministers, would not look well in a vaudeville house, so Mr. Richardson acceded to their request temporarily until the objection is withdrawn." |
| Notes | The identity of Mr. Don Richardson is ambiguous. He may be the proprietor (as possibly indicated in the June 7th Charlotte Observer) or he may simply be a performer. |
