Opening day November 23, 1939. lounge space, Mayor William M Daniel will be present for the opening on behalf of the people of Wilson. built for film and live performance with large stage and dressing rooms. The Carolina Theater appears in the 1960 Wilson city directory but is not listed in the 1962 directory. No 1961 directory is available, thus the 1960 close date is an estimate.
