uses a Mirrored screen and recently installed exhaust fans (New Bern Daily Journal, August 28, 1910, p. 8); last eight rows of seats raised ten inches (New Bern Daily Journal, September 19, 1913, p. 8); a "silent drama playhouse" (New Bern Daily Journal, October 30, 1913, p. 1); closed for renovations on June 24, 1914 (New Bern Daily Journal, June 25, 1914, p. 1) in which 70 ft were added to the building and the first and second stories were converted into one large auditorium with 420 seats on lower floor and 160 in the gallery (New Bern Daily Journal, July 21, 1914, p. 8), reopened on September 28, 1914 (New Bern Daily Journal, September 29, 1914, p. 4)
