        <head>A BILL TO AMEND AN ACT ENTITLED AN ACT FOR<lb/>
THE RELIEF OF THE WIVES AND FAMILIES OF<lb/>
SOLDIERS IN THE ARMY, RATIFIED FEBRUARY<lb/>
10th, 1863.</head>
        <div2 type="section">
          <p>SECTION 1. <hi rend="italics">Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the<lb/>
2 State of North-Carolina and it is hereby enacted by the<lb/>
3 authority of the same,</hi> That section first of an act entitled<lb/>
4 an act for the relief of wives and families of soldiers in the<lb/>
5 army be amended in the first line by striking out “one <lb/>
6 million” and inserting “three million,” and in the second<lb/>
7 line by, inserting after the word “hereby ” the word<lb/>
8 “annually,” that it may read “That the sum of three million<lb/>
9 dollars be, and the same is, hereby annually appropriated<lb/>
10 to the use and benefit of the wives and families of<lb/>
11 indigent soldiers who are now or may hereafter be in the<lb/>
12 services,” &amp;c.</p>

          <p>SEC. 2. <hi rend="italics">Be it further enacted, </hi>That the third section be<lb/>
2 amended by striking out “one million” and inserting<lb/>
3 “three million.”</p>

        <div2 type="section">
          <p>SEC. 3. <hi rend="italics">Be it further enacted, </hi>That this act shall be in<lb/>
2 force from and after its ratification.</p>
