Sadness and gratitude after Hurricane Floyd

Elberta Hudson describes her reaction to Hurricane Floyd's aftermath. She celebrates the generosity visited on White Stocking in the form of truckloads of Christmas presents. "I been experiencing the jubilee of the Lord ever since it happened," she says, but also confesses to a deep personal sadness at the hurricane's destructiveness and often wept as she had to dispose of the property that she and Thomas had worked hard to accumulate.
