		  <p>We had a storm Saturday the 20<hi rend="sup">th</hi>, almost
			 amounting to a tornado. The tin roof of the 
			 <name key="name0000711" reg="New East" type="place">New East</name>
			 building was taken off. I have had the old tin replaced as well as it could be
			 done. The 
			 <name key="name0000869" reg="Philanthropic Society" type="organization">Phi.</name> Library &amp; the Hall below are liable to be
			 much injured, it will require immediate attention.</p> 
	 		<p>It might be best that you should send M<hi rend="sup">r</hi> 
			 <name key="x" reg="x" type="person" rend="yes">Laws</name> down to estimate what is best to
	 			be done. I have written M<hi rend="sup">r</hi> 
	 			<name key="pn0000114" reg="Battle, Kemp Plummer" type="person" rend="yes">Battle</name>.</p> 
		  <p>One tree blown down in the Campus, &amp; many elsewhere, one chimney
			 in the village and several small houses.</p>
